Community Manager for Blockchain Protocol

Startale Group is a leading blockchain development company and a core contributor to the Astar Network and Soneium blockchains. Rooted in Japan, we are at the forefront of driving web3 adoption, empowering enterprises, creators, developers, and users to transition seamlessly into the decentralized industry.

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Community Manager to lead and grow our global community across both Astar and Soneium ecosystems. This is a unique opportunity to become a key voice and connector within the web3 movement while working alongside some of the top minds in the blockchain space.

Role Overview

As Community Manager, you will serve as the front line of engagement for Astar. Your mission will be to cultivate a thriving, informed, and welcoming global community across major platforms. You’ll manage day-to-day communications, host live events, and collaborate with the Marketing, Product, and Communications teams to ensure our messaging is aligned, our community feels heard, and our users are empowered.

This role requires strong communication skills, a genuine passion for web3, and a deep understanding of decentralized communities.

Role & Key Responsibilities

Community Strategy & Execution

Implement global community strategies that align with Astar’s mission and product roadmap. Knowing how to develop community strategies is a plus.
Set and track KPIs to measure engagement, growth, and user sentiment across platforms.
Ensure consistent community narratives that reflect Astar’s brand voice, values, and vision.

Community Engagement & Management

Actively manage Astar’s community channels (Discord, X/Twitter, Telegram, etc.) with timely communication and authentic interaction.
Foster a positive, supportive, and engaging environment for developers, creators, and users.
Ensure community discussions remain healthy, inclusive, and aligned with protocol goals.

Content Creation & Campaign Support

Collaborate with Marketing and Communications teams to create and distribute community-facing content, updates, and ecosystem news.
Translate key milestones, announcements, and product changes into engaging, community-friendly formats.
Create and share educational content to help onboard new users and empower existing ones.

Community Events & Live Sessions

Plan, host, and moderate Astar-focused events like X Spaces, AMAs, Discord hangouts, and hackathon onboarding sessions.
Drive participation before and after events to maintain community momentum.
Bring in ecosystem partners and team members to make events more engaging and informative.

Community Insights & Feedback Loops

Monitor sentiment and collect feedback on Astar’s products, updates, and ecosystem activity.
Report key trends and actionable insights to internal teams.
Act as the voice of the community in internal strategy discussions.

Community Programs & Growth

Develop and manage ecosystem agent and contributor programs to empower key members of the community.
Recognize and reward valuable contributions to foster loyalty and organic growth.
Partner with adjacent communities and external collaborators to expand reach and drive awareness of Astar.

Documentation Ownership & Collaboration

Create, update, and maintain user-facing documentation using Docusaurus and other relevant tools.
Work closely with the DevRel team to ensure all documentation is accurate, up-to-date, and reflective of the latest tools, features, and ecosystem developments.

Support for Soneium

Assist in early community building for Soneium by applying proven strategies from Astar.
Help host Soneium-specific events and facilitate early feedback loops as the ecosystem grows.

Brand Advocacy & Ecosystem Support

Act as a public-facing representative of Startale across online forums, events, and conferences.
Participate in industry events, both online and offline, to advocate for Astar and deepen ecosystem relationships.
Support co-marketing and partnership initiatives with community activation and engagement.

Qualifications

2–4 years of experience in community management, preferably within web3 or blockchain ecosystems.
Strong understanding of blockchain technology, Ethereum ecosystems, and Layer 2 solutions.
Proven ability to grow, engage, and moderate global communities across platforms like Discord, X, and Telegram.
Skilled at creating social and educational content tailored to a wide range of users.
Comfortable hosting live events and interacting with public audiences.
Experience working in fast-paced, remote, and cross-functional environments.

What Sets You Apart

Familiarity with Astar and its role within the Soneium, Polkadot and Ethereum ecosystems.
Experience developing ambassador or contributor programs in decentralized ecosystems.
A pulse on crypto culture, memes, and real-time social trends.
Deep involvement in other blockchain communities (DeFi, NFTs, DAOs, etc.).
Strong organizational skills with the ability to juggle multiple conversations, priorities, and projects.
Naturally curious and culturally tuned into crypto-native conversation.
