Startale App is a SuperApp built on Soneium that lets you manage your digital assets, earn STAR Points through various activities, and access DeFi opportunities. The Japan Edition is a version of the app specifically set up for users residing in Japan, with Japanese language support, JPY display currency, and access to Japan-exclusive features such as JPYSC.
When you first sign up or log into Startale App from Japan, the app will detect your geolocation and display a message such as: "Looks like you're in Japan." If you select "Yes, I live in Japan," the app will be configured with:
• Japanese as the display language
• JPY (Japanese Yen) as the display currency
You can also check or change your edition at any time by going to Settings → Language, where you can switch between the Japan Edition and the Global Version. If your app is displaying Japanese and JPY by default, you are likely using the Japan Edition.You can sign up using social logins (Google, LINE) or passkeys for a seamless and secure onboarding experience. Simply follow the welcome flow to set up your account. Alternatively, you can connect using your existing EOA (Externally Owned Account), such as MetaMask. After you connect, an account will be created for you. You can move funds between the account and your EOA seamlessly.
You can add additional EOAs to Startale App in the future. However, you will only have one smart account (AA wallet), which is your main wallet. If you want a new smart account, you will need to sign up entirely using a different email address (and a different referral code).

Powered by Account Abstraction (AA) technology, it uses programmable code to enable user-friendly features. This significantly simplifies interacting with blockchain technology, making it easier and more secure for everyday use. The Startale AA Toolkit powers all smart wallets created by Startale App.

Startale App is currently available as a web interface, optimised for both desktop and mobile screens. A native mobile app is not available yet.
Startale App currently operates on Ethereum and Soneium, an L2 blockchain developed by Sony Block Solutions Labs, optimised for scalability and low transaction costs. More chains will be supported in the future.
Yes. Go to Settings → Language. You will see your current setting (Japanese) and an option to switch to English/Global. A confirmation screen will appear — select "Switch to Global" or "Stay on Japan Edition." You can switch back at any time. Note that some features available in one version may differ in the other.
